So it begins

Step your game up rubber scrubber. You’re slacking.

Not sure it really matters. However, I say put one on each side of the truck/ trailer & have to stack exit to that side.

Just out of curiosity, do you ever look for older zero turn mowers? Mine has a kubota diesel engine, 26 hp, no dpf. Many smaller tractors all have diesel engines with no DPF, just in case your looking around. for a cheap engine My 50hp tractor is DPF and the regen cycle sucks.

You have the kubota 1105 engine. It’s a good engine for sure it’s just less power than I wanted. I actually ordered 2 of them but 6 months later I still had no shipping date. So I canceled my order.

I’m trying to do the same thing, have you had any luck? I have a yanmar i bought and want to do the same thing.

What exactly are you trying to do?

That wasn’t clear enough?

The same thing you did with Isuzus. I have a yanmar i want to make into a pressure washer. I can’t even find anyone that can point me in the right direction of who to go too for help.

I’m going to need a lot more info than that .
What engine is it
What kind of bel housing is on it
What’s your budget
There are many ways to do it just depending on how INDUSTRIAL you want it to be and how flexible you want it to be . Or how flexible your budget is .
Everything you need is sitting on someone’s shelf somewhere . That stuff can be expensive endless you have access to a machine shop
Hot or cold water machine

No bell housing on it. This is what the one place did. I will have to get you more information on the engine. I can set-up the washer myself. It’ll be belt driven as we use water from a tank to wash. We have a machine shop in the next town over. My budget isnt endless and i already paid someone to do it but it didn’t work (it was something new for them, so im not mad), but i do have some money to put into it. Like you said in one of your posts, I’ll get alot more hours out of the yanmar then i will a vanguard ($3500 and cant even buy one right now, parts are hard to get also). I will be running it about 7-8 hours per day, I’ll be put into a trailer. It was on motor mounts but took them off to help with the shaking, (thought it was the reason the belts kept breaking), as you can probably tell bo way to balnace that pulley the way the guy did it.

Step 1 Tear that crap off
Then remove the flywheel and take it to a machine shop.
Order a keyway shaft from McMaster carr .
I will need to know the HP before I can recommend a shaft size .
Take both the flywheel and shaft to the machine shop and ask them to build you a stub shaft. There are many ways to do it but it’s really going to depend on what type of machines they have .
This is the cheapest way

The better way . Better meaning more industrial and will likely last forever.
You need to order a overhung load adapter and bel housing specific to that engine. With or without a clutch.
This is the best way because it reduces any side load on the engines bearings .

this is a stub shaft

This is a PTO clutch assembly. Also referred to as a load adapter

I’m enjoying this thread. @florida_condo_cleani I like your ideas.

To some without any experience in machining and fabrication this may look complex. However, this isn’t complicated at all compared to other things done in that industry. I’ve already been wondering myself about building a diesel-powered skid unit sometime, I have a little bit of background in these areas. The fuel savings alone should be noticeable, not to mention the expected lifespan of these engines.

I’ll be watching closely, excited to see how it turns out. Good luck!

If you stick with 3600 rpm diesels the conversion is much easier since most pumps are meant for 3600 rpm engines. And stick with popular models like Kubota’s d722 20hp or d1105 24hp these engines are used in everything imaginable. So they are easy to find and easy to find parts for unlike most brands .
Any diesel used in a zero turn mower means the odd parts like stub shafts and radiator mounts can be bought at your local dealer. Brands like grasshopper / scag can have whatever part you need usually the next day
