SKUNK Spray on the siding

Today I had a customer ask if I could remove the stain the skunk spray left on her white vinyl. I tried sh/non caustic truck wash/ox acid/citric acid and yes brown stuff with no luck at all. It’s only 3 pieces of siding about 2 foot long I told her I would just replace the siding if I cant get it clean. Does anyone have any experience with this. The sad part is It would have taken less time to replace it but now I’m just curious.

If I wanted to keep trying stuff, Id try the carpet cleaner sprays for pet urine stains like resolve brand. I use the resolve brand to freshen my trash cans(GRANDKIDS still on diapers).

I know that a good ol peroxide/baking soda/surfactant mix will take the stank off of a dog who was sprayed but no clue if it would help with the stain at all.

Drove up to the pkc super stakes in Illinois in my wife’s suburban to coonhunt. Guy that cast out with us rode with me. During the hunt his dog caught a skunk and got sprayed. Needless to say he rode back with the judge and think they was using tomato sauce said it would help the smell.

I heard tomato juice as well, haven’t tried it personally.

Tomato juice definitely takes the scent away on canines and humans lol, Dogs got into skunks about 2 weeks ago. Can’t help you with the stain .Interesting topic.

I’ve been reading up on it a little, Baking soda and peroxide takes care of the smell like @TDclean said, But the stain is in the form of an oil, So a good degreaser.

Yeah I’m stumped I told her I would just replace it. It would cost more to keep messing with it then to replace it. It doesn’t smell anymore I will post some pictures of it Thursday when I go back

We had some siding replaced on my house, they can’t match it up very well if it’s over a few years old.

You’d be surprised what a magic eraser can get off of siding

Its white siding and she has extra so it’s a no brainer for me

Well , Do you have a piece of used siding hanging on your rear view mirror to freshen up your pickup ? What ya end up doing stinky?

I have been stuck at the firehouse haven’t gone back yet
