Single stage compressor vs 2 stage compressor

Is there a difference here when it comes to powering an aodd pump? I am looking at a single barrel 17 gal Englo vs the 8 gal double barrel.

It makes no difference other than cycle time. I two stage with the same size tank and hp will cycle less than a single stage.

What is cycle time?

Compressors go into bypass when full. A 2 stage compressor fills up to 175psi a single stage is 125-150. Psi. The higher pressure allowes more air to be used before having to fill the tank again. This is called cycling. It is more important to match a compressor to the cfm . Both will run continues if your pulling more cfm than the compressor can produce

I shouldn’t have any worries should I?

Depends what’s size pump are you trying to run of what size compressor?

1/2 inch pump. 5.5hp Honda Emglo. 17 gal.

You’ll be fine . That’s all we use anymore.

@florida_condo_cleani Any pumps you would recommend? Primarily will be used for roofs, wood etc.

All-flo . Nothing else comes close .
