Simpson ALH4240 throttle bar question

Hell everyone I’m new here and just created an account and I’ve looked everywhere for someone to answer my question so maybe someone on here will be able too. Ok first off I purchased a new Simpson ALH4240 yesterday and after putting it together and all and checking everything out I noticed it doesn’t have a throttle bar the engine on it is the Honda GX 390. Just wondering if some of these models do not have the throttle bar or not. Every video and picture I’ve seen of this same pressure washer has it. Maybe someone on here has the same pressure washer and can elaborate, I even called Simpson and the guy I talked to didn’t exactly know what I was talking about so I figured I’d go online and try and get some help. Thanks in advance for any feedback…

A lot of manufacturers are doing away with a throttle to prevent the consumer from not running WOT.

And are putting automatic chokes on :unamused:

Use the choke every time you start a 690 and the fuse will last much longer

Even when its already warmed up?

Yes. Every time according to Honda. I went thru 4 fuses in about 10 days on different machines a few weeks ago. Honda rep told landa dealer to choke it every time and make sure batteries were charged. Granted, two of mine died while running so take it for what it is.

Hmm. That’s very interesting. I had a weird thing happen to me the other day. Machine was running along fine and then just died. No high rev, backfire or anything. Just died. I looked it over right quick and everything looked bueno so I cranked it and voila! No clue what happened still.

I’ve had that happen… Me theory is unloader on the way out. Soon after some random shutoffs my unloader crapped out

Thanks

I considered that, too. But it’s working exactly as it should now so we’ll see.

On the V-twins only ,or all Honda ?
