What are you guys thoughts on the Simpson line of pumps
You will find that most everyone here will tell you they are garbage, return your machine, save money to buy a real washer, AAA isn’t commercial, etc.
With that stated, I’ve been a part-time washer using my AAA triplex pump with no major concerns. Fourth year now, after first year I added a downstream injector kit so I am no longer running chems through the pump.
My AAA has been fine. I baby it. They are not the most heavy duty pumps and because of that i think they get a bad rap as new guys using them do so staying off the trigger to long. AAA manual says not to be off the trigger more than 2-3 minutes and thats nuts. If im gonna be off more than 10-15 seconds i disconnect and open the ball valve. So far so good. They dont have a real bypass line and to bypass through a tank a second unloader has to be added so without that of course extra special attention has to be paid. When guys buy Simpson machines with AAA pumps and cry about burning them up after 2 jobs its either their fault or the got a lemon. In most cases its their fault. Glad to hear yours has lasted that long. When mine goes I intend to replace it with a GP since a Cat would be to expensive for me at this time. Wish I wasnt in the middle if saving up for reels and a 12v or i would be saving up for a replacement pump to keep on standby.
Mine still works so far , changed thermal relief valve for like $15 but othen that it does the job.
Open ball valve no gun when starting / turning off normally and if im be off trigger for more than a min at most take gun off let ball valve run or go cut it depending. I def would have spent a few more bucks had i did more research about pumps beforehand but it works so well see as time goes lol
AAA pump owners have no shame.
They don’t know any better lol
