Shop Door Cleaning?

Hello all,

I’m currently working on a project that requires me to clean bay doors to multiple shops. The doors are open all day allowing dust and other contaminates to settle on the doors.
I’ve tried F9 degreaser and a few other products but it seams that the only thing that works is good old fashion elbow grease and a brush.

Anyone have any ideas or advice on what works best for you?
Very time consuming.

Thanks

Good ole fashioned elbow grease is a good tool to have, you can’t soft wash everything. What was the building used for?.

It’s a auto mechanic shop. The bay doors are roughly 25’ wide and 15’ tall. the doors are painted an almond color so the black soot really stands out if not scrubbed evenly.

One Restore and light brushing. Maybe multiple coats of One Restore and no brushing. Or whatever truck washing guys like @Hotshot recommend.

I do 1600 aluminum roll up doors at a storage place each year. The top like 10 ribs have lots of black “road crap” I’ve tried everything to be brushless and havent found anything with great results. I’ve even tried 2 stepping them with Hydro chem soaps. I was downstreaming the 2 step and i don’t have a ton of experience with them but what i found that works the best is Cleansol BC at maybe 10:1 sprayed on, brushed and rinsed. The doors look amazing afterwards. When i was trying all different chemicals i tried One Restore and it was too strong and caused slight damage. So test a spot first with different chems. But i’d start with cleansol and a soft brush.

Hydrochems HCS400 AT 8:1 , 5 minute dwell, no brushing. Make sure the suns not beating on it during washing. That had 10 years of stain overspray on it plus organic growth. Took 10 gallons to do that. 180’ long by 16’ tall, gutters took 2 applications in spots , but I did it all from the ground with a 79" Lance and my jrod shooter tip for the tops and a 40° meg nozzle for the rest @1500 psi.Sorry the pics are sideways, I’m a washer not a computer savy picture taker🤷‍♂️

Wicked nice results! That stuff is very appealing until you figure out you need this to mix it :joy:

Yeah its a little hot :fire:, It comes in two 6 gallon buckets, 1 liquid and one hot powder then we add 49 gallons of water to it and then dilute the crap out of it even more.

I would take a look at Cleansol BC next time. Not too hot! My 11 year old daughter cleaned my deck with it and was fine.
