SH transfer system

I use my diaphragm pump but how about this:

at USPlastics:

Not trying to argue…huge difference between vacuum and pressure.

So in a sense your saying one could install a 10psi relief valve on their tank and use an air compressor to keep the tank pressurized and clean roofs/etc.

Get rid of the pump all together, hmm. Interesting

Well, 10 psi works in a liquid transfer situation, but I don’t think it would cut it with friction and head loss running chem hose.

Also, didn’t mean to come across as argumentative. My apologies

Shame… Shame… Shame… You a GOT fan? Hahahaha

Never watched it

Shoot

Was going to post it but I remembered what she was wearing in the scene. Nope can’t do that

I’m not saying this is the best or safest way, but this is the best and safest way…

So how does he get sh into his 55gal drum?

Me? I say how in the video.

Speaking of bleach in your eyeballs listen to this.

Last Sunday evening I grabbed a full 5 gallon gas can to fill up our riding mower. This gas can has one of the fat flexible EZ Pour spouts. It’s probably 18". It’s made to where you can empty 5 gallons of gas in like a minute. Anyways, I had the can sitting on the engine and I bent the spout over to the gas tank which is between the engine and back of engine compartment. I lifted up the side handle on the gas can and start pouring. Somehow the spout pulled through the screw on cap and threw gas right back into my face and eyes. I’m talking like what felt like a 1/2 gallon. It instantly started burning and I could barely breath due to the fumes from the gas that went in my mouth and nose. Luckily I happened to be parked about 8’ from the hose spigot. I felt my way over to it and ran water over my face and eyes for like ten minutes and it still hardly did anything. I’ve never really noticed in the past when getting it on my hands but man is it oily. After about 10 minutes I was able to blink my eyes about every 10 seconds as I was running around the house to head inside. I washed my face with Dawn under the kitchen sink about 20 times. My face still burned like crazy and eyes were stinging. I took a shower and washed my face and hair with soap and permatex hand cleaner for probably an hour. It helped some but I still reeked of gas. Another 30 minute shower and my wife could still smell it when I climbed into bed. Skin burned until the next day. Right when it happened and, as much gas that went in my eyes, I thought it would be an er visit for sure. Luckily a week later and all is well. I closed my eyes pretty fast so that definitely saved me.

Moral of the story? I’m not sure what I did but, whatever it was, don’t do it because a face full of gasoline sucks. Although, if you had to choose I’m sure it’s better than a face full of 12.5% sh.

Sorry, didn’t go far enough into the video…my bad. I use an air diaphragm in a similar way but mine has two inlets and outlets so no T’s required.
That manual pump I listed seems like a good way for this guy since he doesn’t want to do roofs.
No plumbing necessary.

My cousin had a gas can accident filling up a quad 2 days ago. Somehow it erupted into fire and he was life flown to a burn ward with full thickness burns on 20-30% of his body.

IDK, as quickly as you managed to get to the spigot, I think the SH would’ve done less damage and would neutralize and rinse off much easier.

Plus, it’s way more natural than gasoline, lol

That’s horrifying

That’s absolutely horrible. Sorry to hear it. I was burned while in the Marine Corps. It wasn’t horrible but they were 1st degree and I spent 3 weeks in the hospital. I think it was like 15% of my body. Twice a day they’d put me naked in a metal wash tub and scrub them down with a stiff plastic bristled brush. That was horrible. I also injured my back while in which caused nerve damage bad enough I had foot drop for two years. I’d take the back and nerve damage pain any day over burns and even ten fold. I always felt so bad for the guys that were burned much worse.

Anyways, I hope your cousin is okay and recovers quickly.

That’s a good point. You’re probably right. Gas is so oily it was hard to rinse off.

That’s the problem. If you had used elemonator instead you would have cleaned up with no smell

I’m told he’s in a lot of pain. But hanging in there.

Ha! Good one! In all honesty it probably would’ve helped!
