I’ve seen guys in the past have to reseal it because of the staining, not sure how bad yours is. We usually keep the area wet while we work and never had an issue….
go back and reapply a lighter cost of sh and rinse it twice or intill no more sh is left.
You need to soak down asphalt before the mix hits it then be on rinsing it off, flowpro comes in handy here (and a million other times house washing). A lot of house washing is knowing what house wash mix needs to hit and how long it needs (for cleaning) and can (for overspray) stay there. Some things are fine for a few minutes if they’re pre-wet but other things need immediate rinsing even if they’re wet…like I wouldn’t feel comfortable with ANY dwell time for house wash mix hitting a pre-soaked wood stained glossy front door but an asphalt driveway that you pre-wet…I’m fine with the mix sitting on it a couple minutes.
Flush the runoff path with plenty of water before the residue dries and avoid adding a stronger chemical to the asphalt. Test any cleanup on a small edge first because fresh or sealed asphalt can mark differently.
