SH and siding

Question for the SH pros since all I do is concrete. My enclosed cargo trailer is white and every few weeks it gets black stripes down the side all the way around. I figured out that the caulking around the top is full of black mold and i guess rain and humidity causes it to run down the sides. Im going to do a test spot of course, but is it ok to hit the trailer and caulking with 3% from my pump sprayer, let it dwell 10 minutes then hit it with car washing type pressure to take it off. I notice this on all white trailers and some look like the owners just let it go and it is a mess. Mine is new and I want to keep it looking new.

@Hotshot is probably your best resource there…we only wash our stuff to get the SH off :joy:

Doubt you will need 3%.

I hit my with house wash mix through out the year as needed.

Thank you.

They sell stuff at trailer dealers and repair shops. Not sure the exact name but usually say black streak remover.

Oh PLEASE be careful with that black streak remover. It does a wonderful job but also can take paint with it.

The 3% or store bought?

@Steve512 He’s most definitely referring to the specialty chemical mentioned above that was marketed specifically to remove those black streaks. It can remove lots of stuff haha. That’s why it works so well.

Do you wash your trailer often ? Is it oxidized ?

No its not oxidized. Its only about a year old or less. Smooth as glass, no powder.

Best way would be a good spray on wax after washing to protect the paint. We have stuff that we spray on via DS that lasts 12k miles on big rigs. Let’s face it all trailers don’t have the best paint out there, And they all fade and oxidize over time, best way to protect it is with a good wax.
