SH 12% on brick?

Going to be giving this brick a wash, the rest of the house is a beautiful brick house with this massive blemish.

Anyway, I was planning on soft washing with 12% SH diluted. My question is in any of your past experiences how does the brick and joints react to the SH? Will it discolor it?

It’s so much easier to give her a soft wash in and out. Just wanted to see what advice rest of the community might have, thanks in advance and hope all is well.

(I attached pic let me know if it didn’t upload)

4-6% on the brick, let it sit for 5 min, rinse collect check

Soft wash alone won’t give you great results…hit with 4%…20 mins dwell…pull out the turbo nozzle

Softwash as stated above, but be careful when you rinse. Do not use a turbo nozzle. Usually a low pressure rinse, similar to cleaning a wood fence is more than enough. You can use some pressure, just be careful that you don’t blow the mortar out of the bricks. Just depends on what kind of shape they’re in.

I’ve been doing brick it seems like every other job lately and have had great results with a turbo nozzle. But, you do have to pay attention to what’s happening. I have a number 6 orfice size. As long as I don’t get right up on it it does fine.

Beauty of the turbo nozzle, depending on distance it can be an EF-0 or EF-5.

What is ef-0 and Ef-5? I have a turbo nozzle with a #9 orfice. I thought turbos were all zeros that rotate?

LOL you’re definitely a California boy.

What were you doing down at the Lake of the Ozarks?

I lived there for six months in 1996. Camped all summer right at the lake and then my mom and her boyfriend (now husband) rented a house on the lake. Then right before 97 I moved back to my dads in Marin county. It was a cool place just super humid!

Yeah, Missouri is pretty rough on the summers humidity-wise.
But I love the lake especially in the summer.
