Service contracts

Anybody done a fleet service contract?
Need help writing one. This will be my first.

I’m in the same boat here. Working on 14 busses twice a week till Sept. then 2 busses once a week all year round

I’ve got 30 nasty tractor trailers. Almost done with first round washing and they want me to keep washing. Just think I need a contract.

I’m thinking of putting something together for this because it would be a great year round set up and make some good money in summer. Only thing is in have to vacuum up and dispose of waste water or find a spot that has city approved storm drain filtration. I have one location (car lot I currently wash 70 cars every 2 weeks) thinking about letting me wash after hours or on Sundays.

I will have to figure out an efficient way to wash all 14 on sundays without making it an14 hour day also need Eco friendly soaps.

What are you charging per ?

Also I’m using only 3 GPM Hotsy 965B at the moment and its frustrating so I’m going to look into a 4 or 4.5 GPM machine to speed things up. Or would you suggest more?

I’m going to upgrade to atleast a 5.5 gpm machine and I don’t have to worry about waste water with this one costumer.

Are you washing your tractor trailers alone or with help and how long is it taking you per Unit? I just washed one with 3 guys in 45 mins and the driver was really happy with our work but that’s a full wash with 2 brushes a rinsing with 3 GPM.

Truly service contracts aren’t worth the paper they’re written on, if you’re trying to “Lock Them In”. That being said a waiver form is more important, sounds stupid I know but true.

Description of service, price, start date, waiver…done. Remember, they’ve got more money and Lawyers to break a contract than you do.

Just saying.

I’m washing by myself. Takes me about 2 hours for a day cab with a 34 ft aluminum dump. But these haven’t been washed in 2 years. And GuyB has a point. These are big companies with deep pockets.

I need some better truck wash I think. I’m having to go over the cabs 2 or 3 times to get the black film off. Have you used any omega chemicals?

Truck washing usually is done by the “two step” method of using a low ph acid usually buffered like hydrofluoric acid as an aluminum brightener, and then followed by a high ph detergent like brown derby etc… The chemical reaction between the two is what releases the pollutants from the surfaces, and then rinsed with high pressure…

We typically do a cab in about 10 minutes, and an unpainted aluminum trailer in about 15 min. We soap with an 8 gpm machine, and another guy rinsed with another 8gpm machine.

I’m 2 stepping with my #1 being an aluminum brightener and #2 a truck wash. Not sure if my truck wash is strong enough. Using strike force from Paul, but it’s powder and doesn’t mix well.

Not sure if I can two step on these tour busses I’m going to be washing. Anybody have experience with this type of washing? There are 14 Prevost H3-45’s and after I might get 10 grey hound busses if they like my work! Any tips would be great guys. This forum is amazing!

Good point about trying to lock them in, but a service contract does have some value. Mainly if you want to acquire financing, or sell your company.
