Seeking advice on acquiring jobs/contracts

Okay, I’m not entirely new here but this is my first post. I recently bought some equipment from Powerline, which I absolutely love btw for anyone who is looking, and I had work lined up for it and one backed out and the other sold some of their trucks. Anyway, what I’m getting at is, I have 17k worth of equipment sitting with no work and I desperately need it. Anyone have any suggestions on how to locate contracts up for bid or how to get contracts with businesses? I haven’t done any advertising yet but I do have a flyer put together and I am about to make copies. It’s just not moving as fast as I need it to. I do work a full time job btw. Thanks in advance for any help :+1:t2:

Everything is dependent on your area. My website gets me most of my work. I assume starting out you want to get the best bang for the cheapest buck you can. Try Google ad words, Facebook advertising, door hangers, knocking on doors… there is a lot to do but none of it is a guarantee. There is a lot of good info here on starting out but you have to find what works in your market.

So sorry you got hooked by powerline. Go business to business knocking doors. Not sure what kind of work you are chasing

With a hot water setup, I’d say go corporate.
McDonalds
Walmart
Target
Taco Bell
Wendys
Chick Fil-A
Banks
Store to store, ask for District Manager contact info.

Thanks for the fast replies :+1:t2: that’s kind of what I was expecting. I’ll be getting to work on all of that is just kind of slow because my bills are more than what I’m making lol. And I’d like to do more of the corporate/business work

It’s a slow start but hang in there and it will pay off. I think a lot of people stop right before it gets good.

Stopping isn’t an option for me. I’m in it for the long run lol. But I’m gonna take the advice and try to get out and be a little more active this week

The little bit of commercial work I have done does not pay fast so be prepared to be strung out a bit. I only mention that because you said the bills are outpacing the income. Residential generally pays the day you do it.
