Sounds like a good time to have a talk with the guys about how much easier it is to replace them vs replacing your equipment.
But itās not, is it?

Ouch, I see what you meanā¦Cody is always on the scene if Iām not so we donāt have that problemā¦but I see what you mean.
Maybe this will us be āMyā truck for a whileā¦I still get out and wash every now and again.
Yrs ago I would agree with that because I went thru guys left and right, but today these guys are by far my most valuable asset. These guys are never late in 9yrs now and they take at most a 15minute break for lunch. There work horses. The machines stay on pretty much all thru the job and when itās time to call it a day they pile stuff into the trailer in no time at all. That part gets me nuts because I can never find anything in thereā¦but I gave this control up yrs ago since I am hardly ever with them while there out working.
Great employees deserve some slack and these guys get plenty because they produce day in and day. My customers love them because they not only do excellent workā¦they never stop.
Sidebar note-- in this Condo job they both were making over $30/hr 10hrs+day(bonus put them in the mid $30ās). loyalty and excellent work means decent money for these 2;)

lets see some updated pictures now that this baby has some hours on it!!
great video, guy any reason why you stacked the reel the way you did, I was thinking maybe put both electric reels together so the supply reels could have the handle on the right side for both of them, any thoughts on this Guy?
Sorry my 2 year old wanted to post!!

Will do D-Macā¦Itās really a personal preference on reel placement, but I didnāt want them together so as to cut down on guys getting tangled up in the 2 hoses on the same sideā¦Just my thought anyway, works great.
Supply hoses same thought here too. Dual feed hoses are awesome in low flow situations, and weāll probably add 1 more to our 14ā trailerā¦weāre about to tear it down for a badly needed rebuild.
Cody likes running the trailer, and Iām reluctant to release my box truck to anyone elseā¦I Love That Thing!
Sheās got about 60 hrs on each unit, and no problems have jumped up to bite meā¦best thing of all is, itās totally paid offā¦was the day I put it in serviceā¦Nothing but Gravy!..I hope to build another one next year.
hey Guy what are your thoughts on a one unit rig?? I was thinking of building a one unit 10 ft box truck rig, but after this year and having a 2 unit rig that saved my ass at least four times because of break downs, I think a two unit rig is just a much better and wiser choice, but a one unit rig would be so much easier to build LOL,
whats your next box truck going to be???
Actually the one you just describedā¦1 unit, 1 roof rig, 10ā boxā¦thatās it.
Weāre set for big job set-upsā¦1-14ā trailer (2) 8 gpm unitsā¦1-12ā trailer (2) 8 gpm unitsā¦1 box truck (2) 8 gpm units.
Now all I want is a small 1 unit truck for house washes & roof cleaningā¦with a 10ā billboard.
Completely agree with starting out with a trailer, āButā if you can afford to build a box truckā¦Do It. Certainly nothing wrong with working up to itā¦we did.
Thanks for the advice and the quick reply!

Guy, how did you secure the machines to the floor? I know you had stands built, but how are those secured? Did you bolt through the floor? If so, how did you seal around the holes and what obstacles did you run into?
(Iām gonna do a box truck for the 2017 season, so I want to start planning now)
Yep, bolted to the floor. Silicone sealed. No obstacles to speak of. Be sure to build a frame for the machines to keep them off the floor. Donāt bolt them to the wheel wells inside the box!
Great info. Thank you!
