Sealcoating

Does anyone do this as an additional service? It seems like it could be a pretty solid add on.

I looked into it but just don’t have the time to come back at a later date and roll or spray 2000 sq/ft.

As in asphalt seal coating?

No I think he was talking about stuff you rub down seals with to groom their coats.

I’m new to the group. I was lucky to find this community during this build. Lots of great info and sound advice. After loosing my office job last March, I started out last fall revisiting a past time job, sealcoating. I bought a small rig/trailer and was on my way again. I sealed all my neighbors homes and moved out around my area, keeping busy everyday. Paid for my simple set up in one day. I soon found out that my customers were asking me for other services. One recurrent theme was to power wash. I jumped on a few and said I would be softwashing/ power washing in the spring. Sealcoating and softwashing is like Peas and Carrots from a sales standpoint. Every driveway I seal I simply ask if the needed softwashing. I had a great response. From a working day standpoint, When it’s too crappy out or too hot to seal, I plan to Softwash and vice versa. So bottom line is, get a sealcoat rig and it is a greatHigh Profit addition. Hope that helps

Almost no asphalt driveways in my area so it had me questioning whether there was some newfangled type of seal coating that I had never heard of. I had a neighbor a few years back that had an asphalt coating and striping business. Dirty work. Smells bad. Been there done that. I’ll just wash houses and go home smelling like a laundromat.

Agreed, can’t seal dirt. It is smelly and can be dirty if not careful. The smell is only part that bugs me. It is however, a simple enough work and set up to have a crew run with out your constant supervision. I get it, another headache. An extra 500-1500 a day is help enough to get me over the smell most days.
