Safe distance from lake

Is 200 -300 feet away from lake far enough to avoid polluting it with sh? Sloping away from house towards lake. If it’s too close, are there ways to make it safe? Or pass? It’s definitely a job for sh too, lots of mold stains on the (Canexel) siding. So i’m wondering if the grassy ground will absorb it and neutralize it or not.

Thank you.

You shouldn’t have to worry about anything closer than about 5 feet from the house

Definitely good then. Thanks.

Just keep an eye out for nosy neighbors…

The link says " this page doesn’t exist or is private".

It’s in the lounge. Keep reading and you’ll eventually get access after having accumulated a certain amount of reading time.

Some say the lounge is where all the gold lies. But be careful what you believe.

Does anyone know the requirements to actually getting in the lounge? It doesnt say on the badge once its earned. I’ve been in and out of it multiple times now I think due to lack of posting

@Infinity might have an idea.

But I don’t think posting has anything to do with it. Pretty sure it’s about “read time”.

They were just talking about you over in the lounge, i told them it’s not true, and that your a good guy.

You just lost your lounge privileges for 7 minutes. What happens in the lounge stays in the lounge. Reveal the secrets again and it will be 7 and a half minutes next time. Don’t push me.

I’ve hung my head in shame, I have not only disappointed other members but myself also.

Is there any good coffee :coffee: in the lounge? That’s the real question…

If a house does not have gutters under the roof slope nd it gets a PW job rain splash will regenerate mildew on the walls after rain season starts. Then the customer will blame the PW guy because the job had no lasting effect. I did two jobs fitting this description in 2017 then I got smart enough to ask by phone if the roof has gutters. If the caller says ‘no’, I ask if they are planning to sell or rent the property. If that answer is ‘no’, I tell them I’m booked but if and after gutters are installed call me back and I’ll give an estimate. I’ve kept an eye on three rental houses that do not have gutters and never got pressure washed. The mildew is still on the walls and the properties are unoccupied. It’s a valuable lesson for low expense.

I am so confused…

What does this have to do with washing near a lake?

But yeah, I suppose mildew will grow back a little faster without gutters installed. But it’s a weird reason not to offer your services. Simply give realistic expectations. “I see that you don’t have any rain gutters installed; the mildew will probably return fairly quickly. Just so you’re aware.”

Regarding access to the lounge, it’s some kind of algorithm set by the creators of the discourse platform this forum is built on. I don’t fully understand it, but I think it has more to do with your overall level of community involvement, vs. straight read time. Things like how much and how often you post, how many of your posts are “appreciated” (i.e., get heart clicks or get quoted), etc.

Anyone that’s interested in getting lounge access can PM me or one of the other mods (@Steve, @squidskc, or @Jordie).

We’ll have to approve people on a case-by-case basis. If you’ve just gotten here, or you have barely any posts, don’t expect approval. But longstanding, contributing members who just don’t have the free time to get access through posting, we’ll more than likely let in.

Edit: here’s a great explanation of the Trust Level system on the Discourse platform:

Lounge access on this forum is granted at Trust Level 3 - Regular. That’s why access can come and go, depending on your level of involvement over the last 100 days.
