RV water tank

I’ve been looking into ways to save some room in my trailer. The only thing I can come up with is toss the tote. I’ve looked into doorway tanks and they would be great but the shipping is just as much as the tank(nearly). No local places here. While searching I stumbled across this RV storage tank. Looks like it would be great, and the bonus? Free shipping. They actually look better demension wise. Then get a couple smaller ones. 42 gallon for SH, 42 gallon for House wash, and a smaller one for soap with a porportioner. They’re made of Polyethylene, so it should be fine for SH.

I am in the same mind-set as well.

You can also look at “loaf” tanks.

The first one only has a 1/2" outlet and I think you have an 8gpm. Doesn’t look like you can access the inside to put a bigger bulkhead fitting.
The second looks the same as well.

I was looking at something like this: 150 Gallon Portable Utility Tank | A-SP0150-RT | Ace Roto-Mold

Width is same as a tote, but length is a foot shorter and height is 2 feet shorter. It has a 1 inch outlet, but with an 8 inch lid, if I wanted to change that out to a 2 inch bulkhead I feel I could easily reach it on the inside to do so. Was thinking of having this behind machine and then construct something of a shelf above it to put something (maybe hose reels or soft wash system).

You can always add a bolt-in inspection lid to access the inside and add a larger bulkhead.

But I’d be most worried about this detail:

That’s really thin for a plastic tank. You’d have to build a box around it to keep the sides from bowing out.

I’m getting these for my new trailer.

Rv tanks are prone to cracking. Especially when someone travels with them full. They are not very strong at all. (Been in RV business for 6 years). I would pass

I am also looking around for maximum quantity/minimum space for the bed of my truck. I am not sure these will save any space but here you go…

Cheers!

I’m an rv tech full time. If you make a cage for it you should be fine. They are thin and will bloat Without help. I’ve seen them put under enough pressure one bent the steel brackets holding it in a camper without breaking. Also seen them frozen splits are pretty rare but that could change with uv exposure

I was looking at these too. But i feel like it wont last that long

Ive seen these in person. Those are great little tanks.

If it’s in question I’m not going to use them. I’ll probably just end up paying the astronomical shipping.
