Rust removal pricing

I know Craig at f9 told me he charges $1/sf and does it all so it looks even. First time I ever tried rust removal I tried spot spraying and that wasn’t a great idea.

Not me i had kind of gave up on it.

My vendor sells inhibited muratic. I bought a 5er for $40. She said its just as strong as the regular stuff but it reacts alot slower. That way you can spray a larger area and dont have to panic to rinse off really fast. I haven’t got to try it yetthough.a

This sounds interesting.

Im curious about it as well. Im sure @CaCO3Girl has came across it plenty in her old job.

I did the same with oxilac and results were horrible. Luckily it was my concrete. I now roll it on. I think it was @MrSparkleVA thread that gave me that idea.

On a side note I just used f9 barc on a copper stain on stucco. I worked wonderful. Good stuff. I probably used 7oz on this stain and could have went weaker.

Going to order a couple cases tonight.

It’s called urea hydrochloride. It’s hydrochloric acid reacted with urea. It actually has a patent held by peach-state labs. Cool stuff. Non fuming, but it does work…just not as fast. On SDS’s it is called an organic salt, but yeah it is urea hydrochloride.

Phosphoric can boost it as well…which is really cool. WORD OF CAUTION!!! It can be unpredictable on metal. There are special inhibitors sold to reduce its effects, but don’t think it’s ever going to be “safe” on metal or anything else.

Always check to see if it contains a metal inhibitor, and what effect you diluting it can have on that inhibitor

Aluminum brightener = Hydrofluoric Acid

HF is some serious stuff, I would NOT use it on just anything. Local story…a worker was in a plant when the aluminum brightness tank busted. Swept over him and past him. He jumped in the safety shower immediately, was taken to the hospital, put in hyperbaric chamber to try and draw the HF out of his bones…didn’t work. Ate his bones, destroyed his organs, ugly way to die.

Hydrochloric will hurt, but it doesn’t do THAT!
