Run off when cleaning pier's and boat docks

When cleaning piers on a lake do you need to be concerned about the chemicals going into the water. If so how do you contain them and where do you purchase such items.

Thanks

You should check with your municipality for your answer. Around my neck of the woods (lakes) we aren’t aloud to have any stain or finish at all on them at all. We have a by law that states only use of pressure treated lumber can be used and never stained or sealed in any manor.

I’m sure the Lake Norman folks don’t want anything in the lake. You may be able to use just water. Like Britton said…check with your water authorities.

You can use certain products if you get it approved by your local environment agency. If not then in SC it’s a 10,000 $ fine for spraying over open water. I have been okd to use different things in the past.
