Roof washing

What will be the best solution to use so I can get good result on this roof with soft washing .

You’ll need to apply a strong SH/water/surfactant solution directly to that mess.
Never heard of cider shingles. Are they some type of asphalt or no?

Ooooooooooh! That clears it up. Cedar is not something I’ve cleaned yet. I must defer to those who have.

Yep, looking at the pics more closely I can tell they are cedar :slight_smile:

According to the wood guys you can bleach cedar but it’s crucial to oil it afterward, iirc. I’ve never done one and don’t plan on it.

Would it be possible to use a sodium percarbonate as to not bleach out the cedar? That does look like a mess. Good luck

That is one nasty looking cedar roof! Lots of rinsing!

I would say go precarb and work in sections…top to bottom with 500 psi and a wide spray pattern. Then use a brightener and finally two coats of oil. I have done very small roofs and gazebo roofs this way and they always come out great, just make sure you are careful they get slippery and make sure you get great before and afters
