Roof Snot

I thought the shipping charges were about the same as any other product I’ve had shipped. Which is pretty much everything I need. No local suppliers. In a house wash mix you only need around 4 ozs in a 5 gal mix. Not only good cling good masking of the sh. I haven’t had anyone comment on the sh smell since I started using it.

Many of you have asked about the properties of Roof Snot. It’s base is a surfactant blend. Roof Snot serves several purposes:

  1. Makes water “wetter”, so it penetrates and spreads more easily.
  2. The foaming action holds it in place so the solution it’s mixed into has better dwell time.
  3. It aids in floating the dirt free from the surface and aids in rinsing.
  4. It does also have some minor degreasing properties.

What other products can roof snot be mixed with? Any acids? Based on what russ just said about mild degreaser, I highly doubt acids. People have mentioned using it on siding, how much would you add to the mix if downstreaming?

A lot of our guys on the RCIA Forum are using it, and like it.

It’s Ph neutral, so it will blend with acids or alkalies.

thats pretty sweet russ.

so how much should i mix with my house wash mix while downstreaming?

i was thinking that it would probably work well with something like oxalic acid and will aid in dwell time. i saw a house the other day where you could see rust dripping from the nails. just a thought

I was a tester for the Snot (back before it was called Talon and then Roof Snot). I was amazed by the cling! I’m excited about trying it on steep roofs in conjunction with Fresh Wash so that I can lower my sodium hypochlorite percentage and keep it all on the roof.

where you get it in az.

Anyone know if Cling-On will keep roof mix?

Had a job this morning where I did the estimate over the phone and the customer had me quote the entire roof. I got there and only one small section needed washed, but that leaves me about 15-17 gallons that I don’t know what to do with since I rarely do roofs.

How strong of a mix did you make? You could always use it to xjet a couple housewashes.

3%. I try to avoid cling on for siding, but that’s an idea.

Just a little extra rinsing. Or use it for pretreat on flat work

We use cling on in our roof mix. I’ve had 15-20 gallons keep but it was only 2 weeks. If its weak just add more sh. Or clean the roof at your new building!
