How does one resolve this lichen problem???
We are going liberal with 50/50 mix. But the lichen doesn’t appear to be going away. It’s obviously not appropriate to put pressure up there. What do you think after seeing this photo???
So I haven’t ran into this problem yet, but I have seen a bunch of guys using a deck brush from Home Depot or lowes to help remove the really thick heavy stuff. The brush bristles are like a stiff nylon which from my understanding is stiff enough to remove the growth while not causing damage like a metal wire brush would.
I assume they would fall away like moss does…
Man lichen is a bear to remove. It’s shocking how much pressure and bleach it can take.
If you put 50/50 on it, it will go away probably within about 6 months. As long as it’s dead, will gradually dry up and disintegrate.

That’s definitely the best course of action by far…it doesn’t make for those sexy before & after pics (unless you come back 6 months later to get them), but it’s the easiest process for you, and the best thing for their roof.
