Roof cleaning in the wind

Anyone ever cancel a job due to the wind. Seems to be a pita. The risks outweigh the rewards. I guess it depends on the location of the house and what’s surrounding it.

What do you do? Any tips or suggestions besides the obvious of prewet and rinse?

I tried searching “wind roof” nothing returned. So let’s have a discussion about it to add to the archives.

Yes. If I’m not walking the roof then I’ll re schedule if it’s over 20mph and strong gust

We cancel any roof cleaning when wind gusts over 20 mph . This happens probably 2 dozen times a year

The only thing that helped me today was using a larger orifice. Higher volume but I’m sure I used more chemicals. Less of a mist. It was still hectic.

Cleaning in the wind is generally not a good Idea. I have seen over spray carry up to 3-4 houses away. Getting over spray on cars and plants, just not ideal and doesn’t look good for your company if you ruin someones windows, paint or shrubs.

We always call off the job when gust get to 20 + mph. We reschedule within the week just overbook a bit.

Roofs? House washing? Flatwork?

Roofs and any house 2 story and up. Flat work we can do in the wind no problem.
