Roof Cleaning in California

Hello all,

New to this site so please excuse the stupid questions. I’m thinking of tapping into the roof cleaning business. Customers have been asking me about roof cleaning lately.
I’m thinking of starting small looking into buying a 25GL sprayer tank with a 5.5gpm pump and a DIY wand with my Jrod. Just need help with Roof mixing ratios and which surfactant works best for me in California. Thoughts???

Thanks in advance!

I use Roof Snot and Cling On. I think Snot has a little more grip. JMO

Thanks Jrod. Any help on the SH ratio on like a 25 gallon tank? I know there isn’t a perfect ratio!

60% water 40% 12.5 SH

Thanks Innocentbystander!

Would something like that be regulated in CA?

@dcbrock that I’m not sure. Being CA probably not. We can’t buy anything good here.

Look into slo mo for your roof surfactant. Dont get stuck to one ratio look for the change. On asphalt

(Sorry to derail) @Firefighter4hire You talk about Slo Mo a lot…is it really that great, or do you like working with PWP? I’ve been thinking about trying it, but I can also get pure laureth from my local supplier for about the same price. Either way, I still have about 2 gallons of snotmenade (I HATE that name), so I won’t need to order until next season…I’m just trying to decide which one to experiment with next.

Thanks guys.

@Grizz To clarify: S…menade is all I’ve ever used, and I’ve been happy with it so far. I’m always looking to improve though, thus my interest in SloMo.
