Roof cleaning drone

What does everyone think? I’m low key impressed.

Its impressive only if the biz makes big bucks with it.

I doubt the drone lasts a whole season. A little sh mist constantly hitting the drone will surely shorten it’s life.

I agree, Ide give it 3 months of roof mix before it’s toast, I take it your not meant to rinse these things lol.

Idk, depending on how it’s built, I could see it being able to be rinsed down after each use.

Price tag?

Nice way to get people to stop and stare

There website hasn’t got pricing, generally means expensive lol, Ide be wasting there time enquiring, thousands I would imagine.

I seem to recall a similar system that ran right around $15k. So yeah, pricey.

Going back to the Arduino, if such system was in place you’d be able to record servo positions of previous movements and send it back up next time in autopilot while you eat your lunch in the truck.

15k is tough to process.

Can you imagine what a time and labor saver that would be though? No more ladders, do it in 1/4 the time, get a few houses done in one day.

It’s like the difference between the old fashioned wanding a house vs softwash from the ground. It’s still fresh in my memory back in the early 2000’s watching a guy use one of those super long poles to spray a 3 story house. He had to put most of his body weight into it.

When they get this thing working a surface cleaner I’ll be in my truck with some pickle chips and a cold one.

It’s coming. Technology’s getting cheaper and automation seems to be growing by the year. Give it 10 years we’ll be arguing over Servos and antennas instead of surface cleaners lol.

Have you seen the robotic mowers? Adapting that to a surface cleaner is not a huge feat of engineering. Couple it with a temporary boundary fence like some of the robotic mowers use, and you could plan your day around the most efficient route to go setup fences and machines, return and pick them all up on your way home, job done.

It’s funny I was into RC for a long time and I was thinking I could build something… then I worried I would ruin hobbies for myself.
