Roof Cleaning Dilemma

Harold doesn’t the home have alot of trees if so can you identify them or post picture. I know its along shot I still think it’s the glue running down but it may be a specific type of tree sap. Mayne a gum or a bald cedar like I said its along shot just super curious now

There are a few trees around but nothing directly over the house to explain sap. The substance is randomly placed. When I remove some of it with my finger nail it’s not sticky. I’m familiar with sap and it’s sticky. Not familiar with glue strips but I imagine it to be sticky and solid to some extent which this is not. Its loose and mushy. I’m extremely curious as well but I don’t see any explanation near by. Truly mysterious

Maybe scrape off a sample and try a few chems back home in the ‘lab’.

That won’t simulate the substrate. I’m sure a degreaser would do the trick but it’ll probably destroy the asphalt

I’m so curious now it has to be the glue strip. I wonder if they have had any repairs done over the years maybe someone put tar or black max to hold a shingle or nail and that’s why its random . Same company could have ran though neighborhood selling cheap roof repair

Going out on a limb, but are all the spots in an area that you can easily see?
Is this a snow area? If not, could it be some sort of adhesive from something like decorations?
This just has me curious now too.

He’s in New Orleans. Definitely not a snow area.

The customer has only been there for a few years and is trying to put it on the market currently so he has no clue. Oddly enough he just called and said that he referred me to his neighbor. It’s crazy how different people can be. Im giving a way a free paint job to one customer, of which I probably shouldn’t be. Here is the next customer of which I truly feel bad about not providing the suggested results, endorsing and referring.

That’s why residential customers stress me out. past 2 months I’ve been 90 percent commercial. business is growing slower but it’s nice to look months ahead and see how much money I have scheduled and developing relationships with my customers by doing reoccurring work
