Roof cleaning (bronze gutters)

Just wanted to ask another stupid question… I have two roofs to do this weekend and both of the gutters are Bronze. I just wanted to make sure I’m not missing anything and its ok to clean the roof without screwing up the gutters.

Thanks a bunch!!

I had a feeling that’s the answer I was gonna get. The money I was gonna generate from this isn’t worth the other headaches. Appreciate the help!

Buy a bronze pot or something and spray some bleach on it. always best to avoid headaches

Correct. Thanks bud!

Having never dealt with bronze gutters. May i ask what the problem is when washing around them?

:man_zombie: bringing this one back from the dead…

A lady says she has “oil rubbed bronze” light fixtures on her house. Apparently we washed it 3 years ago (and 2 other people since), I’d assume they’re the same deal, but then they can’t be that uncommon that we’ve never run into them in the last 2 years either, can they? Maybe “oil rubbed bronze” is just a color selection on light fixtures? Anyone run into it?

My gut is if they really are true bronze, then they’re on brick facades and we can just bag them and avoid spraying anywhere near them like the plague…

The vast majority of “oil rubbed bronze” items are just “finishes” where the surface has been chemically darkened to give it that look.

That’s my thought as well. Told them to bag it well, and keep the SH off it, but my guess is that it won’t do anything to it if they did…it’s also likely on a brick facade, so…

If a customer brought my attention to it, I’d do the same out of an abundance of caution.
