Roof cleaning bids always in person?

@Fran .10 per square foot single story and .20 per square foot 2 story?

a 3,000 square foot single story for $300? you can get much more

I know this post is old, but I saw it and felt like commenting. I have been in business here in Charlotte / Sarasota Counties Florida since 1989 and started chemical cleaning roofs without pressure in the mid 90’s or a bit later [ I just have no record of exactly when? ] Bidding Jobs In Person? I kept track once, for a period of time and showing up in person got me over twice as many jobs, as just joining in with the phone bidders. 10 cents a SF? Probably just enough to waste a person’s effort at trying to make a go at starting a business. 18 - 22 cents a square foot is a competitive bid in SW Florida.
Cleaning roofs from the ground? Maybe a couple, here and there, but it’s not feasible to hope to run a business, if you don’t want to walk on a roof. Quite a few can be done from a ladder though. Of course, here in Florida, most all homes have pools with screened in enclosures. To clean above those enclosures - commonly 30’ long and more - you have to go up on at least part of the roof, ti clean all of it with chemical [ Soft Washing ] cleaning. Here is a video of my son, who has worked for me since 1994 cleaning a roof, that was not stepped on.
