I have a fat boy pump from Pressure Tek. I’m looking to get a tank so I can batch mix my roof cleaning mix. I’m thinking a 100 gallon tank that I can attach a hose reel on top. Do you know the best place to buy chemical holding tanks? Eventually, I want to get a proportioner, but I’m just getting into this business and I want to save some money for marketing.
Tractor supply or Agrisupply if you have one close to you
Use the search
Be care not to batch mix too much soap. Your going to lose potency over time. I initially had a 100 gallon tank for roof mix but switched to a 65 early on. Unless your doing 2 large roofs or more a day your not going to need 100 gallons of mix. Just something to think about edit also in a pinch you can transfer mix from your housewash tank!
Also anything over a 100 gallons DOT might like you. Try to find a tank with no bulk head on the bottom
Thank you for the advice. Probably 50-65 gallons would be better for me (since I’m starting out), then upgrade later if there’s growth.
friends with any farmers? Ask them where they get there tanks. Don’t pay insane shipping prices, chances are there’s a legit farm equipment supply close by
I’m still using my 55gal drum purchased on CL for $20. I can do 99% of roofs with the right tip without needing to mix 2 batches.
Where you live?
Depends on average size house you’re doing. Figure about a gal for every 50sq ft of roof if it’s dirty and steep. Just because you have a hundred, don’t have to make a full batch. And don’t worry about some being left over. When you mix a new batch on top of it, then it brings it back to life. Also, can use for your drive post treatment. When I was batch mixing I had the cleanest drive in the county, lol.
@racer is the man on roof cleaning. 100 gallon tank is alittle big but idk your market. If you want a good deal from tractor supply PM me ill help you out alot. Im a manager at TSC so i know the how to get the deals
So the proportioner saves you money in the long run and eventually pays for itself? Now the price for one doesnt seem to bad.
If only @SchertzServicesLLC was closer and now so busy
I’m not busy at the moment! No snow in the forecast for the next ten days and plow checks are flowing in!
Spent 7 grand on payroll and equipment today and that’s the hardest I’ll work all week lol
Spending 7 grand sounds like pretty hard work to me
It’s the hardest part of the job! I’d much rather sit in a truck or loader than push numbers out of my bank account…
Wow sunday i toom the family sledding we around 8inchs in inman sc. First nice snow in many years.
We had 9 here about 2 weeks ago and I’d rather eat a shoe than go through that again anytime soon.
I know how you feel I had to put a sweater on yesterday
Lol that’s funny!
