Roof cleaning air setup?

Cheep harbor freight stuff

Iā€™ve never had an aro pump but I have had yamada biggest junk ever. And a nightmare to rebuild. All-flo has been giving me excellent service for over a decade. Just need to know the tricks to keeping them going. 80psi max most of the time and run an Oiler . Not to mention you can rebuild one in about 20 minutes

What exactly is an oiler?

Thanks for the photo! So just to clarify, on the left you have an Oiler and to the right is a regulator/water separator?

It adds a little bit of oil to the air as I goes in the pump. Completely eliminates stalling and reduces damage to pump when a diaphragm pops and chlorine gets inside the pump

Yes Oiler goes after the regulator . Itā€™s the last thing before the pump. Also remove the muffler itā€™s restricted

Thanks for posting those pictures and the extra info @florida_condo_cleani thatā€™s very helpful! Just to double check, what size (cfm) compressor did you say youā€™re running, and what kind of max distance do you get out of the 1/2ā€ pump?

Itā€™s a 5.5hp compressor. I havenā€™t measured it in a very long time. I rarely use a zero degree nozzle. I also use 300ft of hose so that will cut down distance by its self

Thank you, youā€™re the man! How much louder is the pump with no muffler? Some people say itā€™s like a machine gun lol. Iā€™ve never heard one

I run a 5.5Hp which gets 13.8cfm at 90psi. Itā€™s paired with 250ft of 5/8 hose. I get between 40-45 feet. Oh and thatā€™s with 1/2in pump

Good to know. Thank you! (Thanks you, too @florida_condo_cleani)

3/8 chemical hose or 1/2 chemical hose? with a 1/2 pump

Iā€™d probably go with 5/8 hose with air

@Kps0410 flow will ultimately all be the same with nozzle size. 3/8 is lighter than 5/8. what is your reasoning

You can get more distance with 5/8 when needed. You have better flow with the bigger diameter hose. Kinda like on my supply hose. I went from 5/8 to 3/4 and it made a huge difference in the water volume going into the tank.

3/8 will choke out an air pump. 1/2 is minimum size . 5/8 is better.

I was hoping youā€™d chime in

@florida_condo_cleani Can you give recommendations on a 5.5hp air compressor. I see that they come with one, two, or three, ā€œheadsā€ or whatever they may be called. I have only been able to find a 5.5hp with two heads at northern tool. If you have a link to a certain one or a list of specs to get that would be a huge help. Thanks in advance.

I really like the ingersoll rand ones. I prefer the one stage over the two stage compressors. They have a higher volume @90 psi

Thanks. Does air outlet size matter to feed a 1/2 inch pump? Seeing some of the 5.5s have 1/4" air outlets.
