Been taking some time to dig through the existing equipment that’s been sitting around for a bit. Test firing an old GX630 belt drive with this 5.5gpm pump on it (55gallon drum as a buffer, with water level well above the entire machine). The Honda runs great, sounds like it’s been used daily (not sitting unstarted for 3+ years). The belt system is running fine, the shaft inside the pump is going, but not a drop of water is coming out of the pump (not even from the gravity feed of the higher water level in the buffer). Is the pump just shot? Would a bad unloader block all flow in any direction?
Do you have water in the supply line, I have seen air in the supply line cause the pump to not be able to prime. Just take hose off at pump inlet and make sure water is present
I been waiting for this comment
Not surprised to hear the Honda is running like a champ, but after putting a 6.8gpm on my GX630 I really should have just gone all in and went with 8gpm.
1 useful response? (yes, there was water right up to the pump inlet from what I could see)
It’s like I started talking about fishing on someone else’s thread or something…darned hijackers.
Now don’t get your knickers in a twist. We’re just bumping the thread until the adults get home from work. @dcbrock runs 8gpm on that engine like I should have. Don’t underestimate it’s powers!
Maybe try forcefeeding the inlet with a house spigot/hose?
Great suggestion. Mine wouldn’t pull water straight out of the box until I forced in water.
If it’s been sitting up, I would think you had a dirt dobber or two plug the water. Come in on the other side of the manifold and blow water through the head with your trigger gun installed and closed off
u a pro
This is pro questions lol
It’s been sitting, yes…on a shelf in the back corner of the warehouse. I’m not suspecting anything of living in there. Maybe we’ll try feeding it with a hose from the other end and see if anything comes out…
Force feed from spigot
