Restaurant Sidewalk/Dumpster Pad

Racer recommended a BCE unit to me 4 years ago. I’m still using it. They shipped it to a business location. They have several versions of 8gpm/4k units with heat, although @Kentucky1234 @Innocentbystander both told me that you can’t get 4k and 8gpm from the unit, but that is how they market it. I think it is Ricks brother in law that sells them  There are several people on this forum that bought a BCE unit. Not saying it is the besterestiest.

IBS would tell you to buy a unit from his landa guy. He knows equipment. Don’t forget that @Firefighter4hire makes em.

My .02 as I sit down recuperating from a paint prep job today.

Bunch of guys on here have them and I think everyone happy with them. I’m getting ready to buy another in next week or so.

Going to have that talk with them tomorrow re that spec. But I’ve seen that pump from other places with same spec. ( https://www.kleen-ritecorp.com/p-30268-general-pump-tsf2021l-high-flow-triplex-pump-8-5-gpm-4000-psi-left-shaft.aspx?gclid=Cj0KCQjwqs6lBhCxARIsAG8YcDi3-wVjoBrPPsziy3lAGGjYXGedqT4Eudd3V7NC3Ty2_wtHxt-hJuIaAoOuEALw_wcB ) - Also - PRESSURE WASHER PUMP - GP HP8040 - 8 GPM - 4000 PSI - 24mm Shaft 1840 RPM - KECSupplies.com But notice the RPM. If you look on GP’s new catalog they don’t show this pump with that kind of output but they only show it at 1750 rpm. So not sure what the deal is.

Also when you look at price of Vanguard 23hp engine, it’s about the same as Honda engine if just buying engines, but BCE Vanguard price with same specs as we have now is $1100 cheaper than the Honda on their skids. I’ve never had a Vanguard, which I guess is an upscale Briggs and would rather stick with the Honda, but not sure why the price on skid discrepancy. $1100 real money.

When I was down there a couple of months ago, getting mine serviced, I asked Randy why they had changed the configuration to mount the engine and pump on separate little skid that sits on bigger skid. He gave me 2 reasons - one that when SS got so high, by going to that, they could make floor of big skid less stout and that GP was marketing that small skid with engine and pump in one unit so to speak and they could save labor on assembly. For a trailer mount unit probably makes no difference, but in my truck mounted unit, it’s tight already changing oil filter as it is. The new configuration they’ve gone to, it will be virtually impossible w/o me pulling skid 1/2 way out of truck each time. The engine is about a foot further to left which means I’d have about 4-5" to get back to filter. Plus battery at back of unit now and pump on front now, but I never touch the pump. Be a good thing for you to investigate on the pumps. Looks to me that the manf are just revving the pump a little more to get the extra 400 psi over GP normal spec.

Don’t like the new layout of the HW pressure washer personally……like my original better.easier to work on if need be,

@Dirtyboy must be actually working today. Figured he’d be all over this, lol. I’m starting early and trying to quit most days by 1 right now. It’s hot and even though I like hot, it’s ridiculous right now.

We shifted our schedules with the stone to come in at 6am and be done by 2:30 just to try and beat the heat.

Did you get a chance to talk to them? I kind of find it odd that they would market the machines that way. I figure if a couple of vets on here say it can’t do that, then it can’t do that. When I got mine and did my bucket test and pressure test with gauges, I learned it was about 7.6 and 3 something K. I say 3 something because I measured it multiple times and came up with some differences, even though throttle and all other things were identical.

On a side note I think I broke my heater the other day.

What happened to your heater? Hard to break one of those

y, I talked to him. Not a whole lot new. He says that’s the specs that come from GP to them on that combined unit. He did tell me Honda had dropped about 100 690’s on them in past 30 days on old PO’s. Doesn’t care a lot for the IGXs because you can get parts for them inside about 6-7 weeks.

I don’t know. I was working on a deck (didn’t feel hot water), walked back to trailer to grab something and heater was running. I turned it off and it wouldn’t fire up again later. Maybe I bumped the switch, heck I don’t know. I should have felt hot water while working and I didn’t. Anyway, since it is just a beckett burner like I have on my oil furnace, I will have the furnace guy look at it. I don’t know much about them, and to be honest, I don’t want to learn much about them.
