Requesting advice from more experienced washers: Dark streaks after house wash

Hello all, I am fairly new to the business and had a very strange result after my last house wash. I’ve done a few houses and have not had this problem until now. Side note, the house looked perfect when I left. My procedure is 10% sh and the recommended amount of elemonator in a jug fed to an X-jet with a 10:1 proportioner (1% mix) there are 2 issues present in the picture. The first being the dark run lines, I attribute this to dirt behind the siding running out and drying, I plan to first try lightly misting it in hopes that will get rid of it, If not, I plan to use a light mix and rewash. I was also informed to only spray with the siding overlap, something I didn’t hear mentioned when learning the ropes. The second problem is what appears to be oxidation on the left half of the wall pictured. I made sure to use low pressure, wash from a distance, and rinse before it was dry. It wasn’t a very hot day but wondering if I should have cooled the siding before hand?

To sum it all up, my questions are:

  1. How would you go about removing the “run lines”?
  2. Is the left side of the siding in this picture oxidized? If so, what did I do wrong and how can I fix it.

PS. I did the finger swipe on the right half of this side of the houses siding and there was barely any dust, didn’t think to swipe the left side cause I couldn’t imaging why that would be different.

Thank you, Evan

What GPM machine are you using?

4gpm machine

Got any before pics? Could have already been like that. Front 1/2 looks fine. Do you have another pic? Angle not great on this one.

Looks like it dried blotchy because of the oxidation on the sides. You can hit it again to see if it dries better or give it a light scrub as well. Might make it worse tho. Maybe sell them on oxidation removal on the whole side. I’ve used gutter butter with good results or I believe cleansol bc works easier

It had recently rained when i did the pre-inspection. The siding appeared to have no oxidation, so no pictures were taken. I even rubbed my finger on the siding to be sure, but of course, i only rubbed the front half lol. will definitely be taking pics of everything before hand in the future. The reason I took the pic at this angle is because it is the only time the oxidation is visible, you can not see it straight on. Very very minor but the client is unhappy so I will need to address it. Last thing to mention, there is a gutter over the front (right in the picture) half of the siding, the left half that is oxidized has no gutter above it. Wonder if that plays into it at all.

Could be an issue, maybe rainwater is running down the siding.
