Replacement bypass hose for 8gpm?

Bypass hose sprung a leak rubbing against the frame of the machine. Its about 13’ of what I think is 3/8" hydraulic line. Northern tool only sells 36" lengths of hose and it seems much stiffer.

I remember someone (probably racer) telling me to increase the hose diameter for bypass. Any suggestions on hose material, diameter, etc? First time I’m replacing it.

Thanks.

I just use 1/2" poly hose for my 8. It’s been on there about 3 years with out problems.

Same, although I think mine is more like 3/8 or smaller. I just change it out once a year for peace of mind.

I use 3/8” for many years……

Was looking at 3/8" poly as well but I run hot water. Poly tops out around 160 degrees. Called a hise supply shop and was told this was low pressure hose

I run hot water too……I just use reinforced poly, works great.

The bypass hose doesn’t see hot water. The unloader is before the burner so when you’re off the trigger, the water is getting sent to tank before the burner

My bypass hose nothing special. Think it was just a piece of red rubber hose BCE had laying around, lol. My other is just a spare piece of 1/2" kuritec hose I had laying around. If what you’ve got has been working just go by a hose shop and pick up.
