Repairing surface cleaner

I bought two blue ones from pwp . I remember them not being very much but that is cover only you have to reuse your brush

Actually guys it is THEIR responsibility. The moment you get on your car it is your responsibility to make sure your surrounding is clear. My guys didnt leave their tools unattended. They were moving our pressure washers and hoses. Let me ask you guys this: if it was little child or my tech that got hurt, would you blame them because she didnt check her surroundings??? of course not. same logic applies to your tools. I even spoke to the insurance company here and they said the same thing. Yes it was unpleasant to have the conversation but i will not pay 500+ for her mistake. i know some of you guys are worried losing contract and what not but someone was liable and it sure wasnt gonna be me. Some of you might differ but i still got paid and everyone was happy (maybe not the lady but oh well)

You screwed up and stuck it to a customer. That simple. Your lack of ethics doesn’t change the situation. Next time you are moving hoses, don’t leave your cleaner unattended

Shared blame in my opinion with much of the responsibility on the the PWer. You and your staff are supposed to be professionals. Leaving it directly in the path of the car created a hazardous situation.

Only person at fault here was the Driver of the vehicle.
You can spin it how you want but the Driver Is Responsible for their car and whatever they hit or run over with it.
Doesn’t mean the driver did it on purpose, just means they are responsible.
Most accidents are just that, accidents! But someone’s always at fault and in this case its the operator of the vehicle.

Just went from a mulcher to a side discharge.

The only person responsible is the person that left the surface cleaner in the driveway. He left it unsupervised, in a place that a reasonable person would not have expected it to be. If you want to spin it to cover your mistake and put the blame on her, it is still your fault for leaving it their unsupervised. Be glad you didn’t have to pay for damages to her car. Karma will take care of it eventually

Exactly…run a business that way and it won’t last long

Neighbor kid leaves his skateboard in my driveway, and I back over it. If they asked me to replace his skateboard, my response would be " shouldnt have left it in the driveway kid" No way I would have had the customer pay for it. Your reputation is now probably pretty tarnished in that town. But, as long as you aint hurting me or mine, do as ya like.

Whoever’s fault it was, I am bookmarking this post in my Caution: This Can Happen to Me category. It is common sense to not leave a tool lying in a driveway while walking away for something else even for a minute.

An associate of mine had a customer back into his ladder which was guarded by pylons while he was cleaning gutters above the driveway. Luckily the driver stopped and the ladder only received a slight bump. I can imagine the slight bump felt much greater at the top of a 24’ ladder loL.

I wouldn’t of made her pay for but IT IS her fault and responsibility.
You as the driver of the vehicle are responsible for what you damage with it.
Might be by accident but Still Responsible

You said that already

Lol. Why don’t you go put your phone on someone’s driveway and then blame them when they run over it and try and get them to pay out insurance. I’m sure it will work great!!!

This thread can go on forever but in the end it will never change someone’s character. You either assume responsibility or place blame. It has nothing to do with legality. Thats just a shadow to hide in

I tore an awning a few weeks ago(an expensive awning), i guess its the owners fault since its considered very well beyond its useable life???

Dont be a dummy, or hire dummies… my surface cleaner doesnt get run over when its in my hands or in my trailer.

Just throw some duct tape on it…Or buy a new one for around $150 (total guess, I considered looking it up and figured that id rather write this instead).

You don’t have to, thank you though.
This one had a crack in it and i poked the hole by swinging the SC towards a pole that had a bolt sticking out, i wanted to buy a new cover anyways but couldn’t justify doing it for just that crack
