Removing Muriatic Acid Stain

Hello all,

Pretty new to pressure washing. I had a potential client ask if I can remove some muriatic acid stains from a botched driveway cleaning. At first glance, it looked possible but I’m also not familiar with the properties of this sort of acid. Does anyone have experience with this sort of thing? The client is sort of far away so it’d be nice to know if it’s possible before I head out there. Thanks for the help!

Re coat with muratic again to even it out then seal it . It’s already destroyed all you can do is put a bandaid on it . Sealer doesn’t last forever but if you don’t it will get worse

Where the acid was in the “botched” cleaning it has etched the surface of the concrete. What @florida_condo_cleani says is what to do. Pump up sprayer with acid, coat sections and rinse. Repeat until appearance is even.

Thank you both! I will look into this

Walk away or charge a lot for fixing someone else’s problem that will now become your problem.

I agree. Walk away and move on to a simpler more profitable job.

I would also say walk away. But I’ve noticed people often say “other contractors “ did this when they mean themselves . So I gave him advice just in case

I once lost a rust removal bid on thumbtack to someone who used muratic acid. The homeowner came crawling afterwards for someone to fix it. Sorry Charlie, damage done.

That’s funny because oxalic is actually cheaper to use than muratic. But i guess that depends on your availability really.
