How do you guys get that pesky grass up between the pavers. I put it on red tip and edge corners and get grass up the best I can. But I find myself picking it n my hands and knees. What is a better more effective way you could suggest??? Thanks in advanced…
I use a Stihl weed eater on driveways with grass.
Don’t you have to wait days for this? And if so then SH 12.5 con Elemonator Should work in the same concept. I am super confused and tbh have never used roundup to my recollection. Does it kill on the spot, maybe i am remembering something from childhood watching my dad. Anyways if it does kill on spot or say 5 mins after, Aren’t the weed and stems thick grown in between? Can SOMEONE explain the process.
Thanks
Round up takes a few days to kill the weeds but the weeds will still be there, just dead and still in your way. They don’t disappear when you spray them. Either pull them or weed eat them to get them out of your way. Inform the home ower they may want to spray them when you’re done to keep them from coming back.
If the pavers can take it…turbo nozzle
You can’t spray round up on a customers property without a pesticide license in most states. If there is grass in the pavers, tell customers to call you when they have removed it
RoundUp is a very misunderstood product. It works slowly by design. That’s how it gets down into the roots and kills the whole plant. You can put vinegar or a zillion other things on there and burn the leaves off.
RoundUp attacks a protein that is only found in plants, so it is very safe for people to use. It has no residual effect in the soil. You can spray a bunch of weeds and then plant tomatoes there a few days later.
When you’re spraying paver cracks, you WANT the residual effect. You want to kill the grass and prevent anything from growing there. There are better products like 365 or Extended Control.
But as IBS said, you need a pesticide license. So this is something you recommend to the customer. You probably wouldn’t do it yourself.
If you try to blast out grass with the pressure washer, it will work, but the roots will pull up the dirt and leave unsightly gaps that need resanding every time.
I use a string trimmer, backpack blower, shovel and broom. Cut all the weeds as tight as you can. Clean all that garbage up before you try to wash or you’ll be wasting a lot of time pushing around wet piles of garbage.
I second the turbo nozzle.
I tell them to call their trusted landscaper first then call me when the grass is gone then I will wash.
I usually turbo nozzle the grass then use the surface cleaner for the rest of the job. With pavers we usually try and upsell polymeric sand and a sealant as well. Both are very quick upsells and usually net most of the profit on said job. Sanding just takes a good brushing and sealing it can usually be achieved with a pump sprayer, or a dedicated sprayer like we have for the sole purpose (cost 400$ at lowes).
I tell them I can’t get the grass out unless it’s dead. I usually have some success once it’s been treated. I also tell them I can’t get all the moss out of the cracks. It’s a muddy nightmare spraying each joint with a high pressure tip trying to get the moss out.
