Reminder; get what you paid for

So I really liked the idea of m5ds nozzle with its adjustable pattern, but didn’t want to spend the money importing it so I cheaped out and got the $15 crap knock off from princess auto. I thought it would have an adjustable nozzle, but it only really has two settings, fan and stream by clicking the nozzle back and forth. Well, I still liked it better than tip switching and it did well. Until today
Today I had two jobs beside each other. Knocked the one out and was starting to rinse the first side of the second, heard my machine bog for a second so I stopped, momentary blip, then went back to continue. The owner was chatting with me before he took off.
Luckily I have been pretty good at best practices and pointed the gun away from the house as I pulled the trigger, the nozzle end blew off the nozzle. It fires across the yard and takes out a plastic owl on his fence, like smashed right through the plastic decoration.
Trying to act calm, I looked at the owner and said that’s why we ask people not to be around for safety. He bursts out laughing, I shut down and go look at the damage. Well, clean up the shards of plastic. I have already replaced his owl and he was cool with it.
This nozzle is so cheap, looks like it was held together with hopes and dreams. Not even any glue. On the positive side, the tip that the nozzle went onto makes a great wasp nest destroyer.
So save up your money and get the good stuff, that’s more aimed at the newer washers as the experienced ones have already gone through this. It would have easily blown a window out.

I lost my shooter tip this way. I guess it hadn’t seated all the way into the QC and I went to wash a commercial building. Thank God it was brick but unfortunately my shooter was some type of plastic. It shattered and all I really found was the QC portion LOL I still need to order a new one. At least you didn’t take out a real owl! That would’ve really sucked!

I had one of those from princess Auto as well and it didn’t last long at all. It didn’t break off like that it would just spray everywhere when switching to fan. I also may or may not of shot my 2 way nozzle through a pane window on a front door a few weeks back… There was a guy there doing renovations on the house and he just laughed at me when he seen me do it and said he’ll fix it. He removed the glass and cut a new piece and fixed it. Needless to say I was extremely lucky and fortunate to have that guy there. Huge rookie mistake and of course I ended up giving him $50 for doing that.

i like my 2story rinse nozzles better than my jrod, maybe i need to find out what actual size they are and psi, but still they rinse like a boss.

Your telling me… I couldn’t thank him enough

So, how does that work is Canada? Down here we would throw them some cash (which you did) and probably a 12 pack of beer. Do you guys just substitute syrup for beer or how does that work exactly?

I apologized for the owl, he apologized for my tip breaking. He told me what store he got it from so I grabbed it after the job. He had a real short driveway so I did for him free. Said I was sorry again, he thanked me and then apologized for my time in doing his driveway for free.
Very Canadian exchange. Typically no tip is given when a screw up happens, sort of an unspoken rule here that everyone follows. And is sorry about following it…

Ive launched a few standard tips before because im always in a hurry when i dont have to be. Luckily they all landed in the grass. I always point my gun away from house and people. I dont have a k7 unloader and i know mistakes can happen. Especially with me. Heck i just charged @marinegrunt credit card hundreds of dollars while ordering some yard signs.:sweat_smile: Sorry again Brian!

I was in Canada twice and everyone was rude and no one said sorry. I guess there’s different rules for Toronto and Vancouver?

Although in fairness I only dealt with Air Canada, customs, and hotel personnel…:statue_of_liberty::1st_place_medal::us:

I do have a great Canadian friend though named Kevin Dubrosky. :canada:

I hate flying US airlines. They want you to pay for EVERYTHING and its always way to high. Im surprised the bathroom doesn’t have a slot to put a dollar in to get some toilet paper. Everytime i fly China airlines they always make sure you feed and not thirsty, most items are free including movies. I have fell asleep a few times during meal time and even hours later if they see you are awake they will ask you if you would like your food.

Toronto is like the NYC of Canada you can’t expect anyone to be that nice. I can’t speak for Vancouver but I feel like it’s a big city thing

The Whale Vomit author?

Listened to a podcast he was on with Tommy Mello. It was awesome

Yeah, Toronto is pretty bad, my impression from when I went there was that it was dirty, angry, and confused. Not a fun place.
Vancouver is about the same, just barely has an identity anymore.
Once you are in real Canada away from our few cities, it’s a really different atmosphere.
