Some of the area mansions have this stone. Does anyone have experience with cleaning it? I know that high pressure will cut right through the stuff, and also that when I tried SH to clean a flowerpot ring it had little or no effect
.
I expect my Hammerhead to work OK (not damage the stone) but will try first in an inconspicuous place. With a surface this porous, How would you suggest cleaning it?
Just foam it with your regular mix.
Then surface cleaner with hit water.
Nothing will happen to it.
Travertine can handle it.
Then ask them if they want it sealed…add on
We clean crap like that all the time. If mortar joints are good just treat and surface clean softly or if joints are bad just softwash it with roof mix, let dwell about 15min and and rinse medium pressure, like under 1000 psi, just watch the joints. Should clean up nicely.
Before you hit it with soap check the drainage. If it all drains into the pool you will have a mess on your hands. I see it has drains but sometimes they are plugged or run so slowly that anything you put on it will again end up in the pool. How do I know this??? Oh yeah it happened to me. Turned out that when they poured the aggregate in my case they got a lot of cement into the drain pipes. I’ve also had pool decks where the deck has settled and the drains are now the highest part of the decking. I run water on every pool deck when I am bidding now.
