In cleaning pavers and re-applying polymeric sand, does it all have to be done the same day?
Or can one remove the old sand, let it dry for a couple days, and come back and re-apply new sand?

It has to be dry to reapply the sand. The sand is activated by water. So if the surface is wet while you’re sweeping it into the joint it will go terribly.
Alliance has a new product called Nitro that is actually installed with water and it cures and hardens with oxygen exposure. Opposite of regular polymeric sand. I have not tried it yet.

Ill for sure look into Nitro, but at least for this job the customer is fixed on polymeric for this job.
Just to pick your brain a little more, if I leave the pavers with no sand between the joints for a few days, will they move or become uneven?
