Hey man I like them too but that’s a total misuse of them. Wasted a good cable tie there lol

It kind of looks like his might have broke. Could probably still squeeze it enough to keep the choke from coming out. If not you can get a new one on good ole’ ebay for about $6. I bet one zip tie wrapped in a circle around the metal tab would’ve put enough tension on the lever to keep to keep it from vibrating out. You know, kind of squeeze the lever down towards the tab. I guess only using one zip tie wouldn’t have looked Arkansas enough for you though.

Buy a Honda and you won’t have to worry about those zip ties😁

Ya know whats janky? The way they designed it lol, i had that stupid cheap tab off and on multiple times and go to washing and it chokes itself out and dies. Zip ties work man until I gotta hot minute to reinvent Vanguards glitch  . No big, its a good running machine.

Your right grump, I buy a honda and have to worry about fuses and coils all day. Zip ties don’t fix yalls hot honda messes.
Only honda I’ll ever own is a 390
. those are bulletproof

Choke it every time and no fuse problem. I might lose a coil every year or two out of 8 machines. I liked the Briggs until they started spraying oil out of the valve covers.

I remember you having that problem, Im getting Kohlers next. I found a good old small engine fella in our small 304 population town , I ain’t saying Kohlers are the best but i gotta travel hrs to find a Honda dealer or vanguard for that matter, I pass this guys shop up everyday and has beef jerky for his customers on the counter in jar at all times, im easy lol

He probably usually has cookies, candy, and other snacks sitting out too. He sees you coming and hides the rest. He has to leave you the stuff that takes awhile to chew so you don’t cost him more than he makes in a day.

I really think one side of your choke clip is broke. At least it kind of looks like it. I have an older Vanguard and the choke is as tight as can be. Bet you some homemade cookies and one of those fancy smancy snow hats you have to wear a new one will fix it.

I downloaded it and zoomed in and it in fact is broken but @Hotshot knows this because he was the one that broke it.

Mine was doing that same thing. Engine would die a few minutes after started when the choke would vibrate open. I put a small spring on the choke lever to keep it closed.

To avoid confusion the choke is actually vibrating closed and you secured it to keep the choke open

Did I though Dez ??
Im mean it wasn’t working and shutting off , Now its working and my air cleaner lid is tighter than it ever was and the choke is working flawlessly and i just checked my supplies and I have over 600 more zip strips to achieve my Vanguards optimal level of performance. Come on admit it and sing , You can call me, THE ZIP TIE KING !

Ill get a new dang overpriced clippy thingee if it makes a happy Dez  , i was really thinking of building a bracket with a rubber tube for it to slide and elevated the bracket on the west side of it a lil.

Would you mind elaborating on the advantages of the service truck to a flatbed. You say there is a lot more room on the service truck but as someone who has never installed equipment on either, could you explain to me like I am 5 exactly how so. Thank you in advance.

Others feel free to chime in with any advice on flatbed vs. Sevice trucks or other.

I’m going with a service/utitlity truck build because you don’t need a skid and I want the storage area. To me those are the benefits. The flat bed offers less storage but room for bigger tanks. Just my thoughts as I’m about to purchase a service truck for my initial build. They run about $9-12K for a 2012 F250/ Chevy 2500HD in Texas. With either truck I also intend to install helper springs.

I also think it’s easier to safely secure your water tanks inside a service truck. I don’t intend to travel with water but if I do I want the tanks safely secured with metal brackets.

Pictures attached for examples only.
