Questions for the surface cleaning gurus

At this point I’d have your own quotes done by companies you contact. Trusting this guy seems like a bad move. Then have him pay for whatever direction you go in. Good luck and I’m sorry that happened to your pool area.

How does one do this?

It seems like hes talking about a homeowner unit with the uploader also being used as a “psi adjuster” even though it’s not, a lot of the machines are labeled as the unloaders main purpose is to adjust psi

I probably should have elaborated. If you go the grinding route, once it is ground down it will be smooth. But after you grind you can use a concrete scarifier which will put a rough or abrasive finish back on the concrete for a anti-slip surface. Ideally you would want a concrete company to do the scarifying process as it involves a high speed walk behind device that is basically a grinder that gouges the cement and creates a bunch of ridges in it. After that you can seal the concrete to protect it a bit better from the environment. Otherwise depending on the concrete company or person doing the work there is other routes to put a abrasive finish back on the concrete. Just depends on what the amount being spent is and what you the homeowner prefer.

Quick route would be to skip the grinding and simply go straight to scarifying, but it could leave a different color of concrete or uneven ground depending on how much of the top surface he removed in areas. it also might leave uneven abrasion too.
