And yes, I have the black tip which did pull soap in a wide fan pattern. The red 0040 didn’t pull any soap, which makes sense, except that I thought the soap high tip for downstreaming was also a 0040.
???

No… Throw the red tip away. Seriously… In the trash so as not to be tempted to EVER use it again.
Is the hole on the red tip the same size as the hole on the black tip?
Hey @wss, yeah I looked at your link. It says the 0040 is a soap high tip. So I’m confused. Am I reading my red tips numbers wrong? It actually says 00040 on it. (3 zeros before the 40)
Have my doubts as well. I have a 9.5 gpm machine and 8gpm machine on one truck. Pretty sure I’d smoke a 12volt pump. The only possible way to increase speed would be if he was running a very hot mix, minimizing the dwell needed but increasing the rinse time and possible plant damage.
2000 sqft house only takes me around 40-45 minutes with only ONE pressure washer. Generally the second washer is cleaning a driveway at same time.
No. The orifice was tiny. I was worried about how strong it might be so I shot empty space before trying anything with it.
That is a #4 orifice instead of a #40 orifice. The smaller tips include that 5th number in case it is a half size etc.
Ooooooh. That makes sense! My bad. Glad I was standing waaay back.
This is 100 psi. This is no ladder.
Yeah, I don’t think my stream from the xjet was that “neat” and direct. I fiddled with the nozzle settings but couldn’t find any kind of sweet spot. I took a video. I’ll check later and see if it compares to your photo.
Generally speaking, (no disrespect to ksroofs) the guys who claim they can clean a house with a 12v pump faster then a pressure washer don’t have any experience SoftWashing with a pressure washer. Usually they don’t even own a pressure washer, just an inexpensive 12v pump. They’ve simply just heard some bad information that sounds good.
yeah, that tip is just gonna cause problems. That first link I sent you has two soap tips (0040 and 2540) you apply the soap with those and then the other two (0010 and 2510) have smaller openings than the soap tips but bigger than the ones that came with your machine. They give you your 4gm flow with less pressure but not low enough to draw soap so you can rinse the house, that allows you to apply soap and then start rinsing without pulling the down stream injector out of the soap. So all you have to do is change the tips as you work
Assuming I only have a 4g/4k PW, care to explain what else ill need to get started? Or point me in the right direction… Xjet to downstream, and some tips that you linked to?
What solution for what circumstances? How much does down streaming dilute?
This is my opinion, but I think it’s important to mention. An injector only pulls soap at low pressure. If you change your tips to a higher pressure tip so that the injector doesn’t pull soap you’re not SoftWashing anymore. A 0010 and a 2510 with a 4gpm machine can do quite a bit of damage.
I use the same tips to rinse that I use to apply the soap. I go back to the trailer to pull the chemical suction hose out of my mix. I don’t mind the walk. I’m cleaning so fast I’m looking for something to slow me down a little.
You need Some sodium hypochlorite (bleach), you can pick some up from a local chemical distributor or some people get it from pool supply stores. You need some surfactant to mix with it. Simple Cherry and Fresh Wash are real popular. You need the tips that I linked to you to get started, you can get other tips for different applications as you learn more. It comes with soap tips 0040 (for shooting the soap mix high in the air) and 2540 (which fans the soap mix out for when you work closer to the siding). It also has 0010 and 2510 for rinsing the siding. Thats pretty close to everything you need. Maybe some gutter grenade and a 30’ pole and a brush for applying it. And a pair of glasses so you dont get anything in your eyes, lol
True.
Hey, thank you all for your help with my tip confusion!
Hahah I was thinking the same thing. 2 8gpms machines from pull-up time to drive off time 30mins.
