Pump unloader valve help

Looking for a little help regarding my unloader valve. Recently my engine would stall when I would release the trigger. I’m looking to replace my unloader valve but not sure of the best way to do this. I have 1 thick hose and one thinner hose. I would like to plug the holes on the right side of the pump and have everything on the left but I’m not sure if that will mess anything up. Any advise would help. Thanks in advance.

Why are you worried about moving the hoses to the other side? It won’t hurt to move them but you don’t really need to. Just buy a new unloader and install it near the area the original is. You might need a new unloader block though. I can tell how that one is mounted.

Thank you for the reply. It was mounted to the frame of the unit. I can’t seem to find a replacement for the same block. Do you have a recommendation on what you would install? I

Pretty cool patina on there.

What gpm and psi is your pump?

That thing must be older than you with the patina.

Hey! I’m scaring the hell out of 30 now. Put some respect on my age!

Lol! It’s an older unit but has always been good to me. It’s a Simpson contractor 3000. The tag on the pump is no long there but I believe it’s 3500 PSI at 3.5 GPM.

Is it possible to go to something like this and get rid of that block all together? Or should I try and find a replacement block. I was hoping to just plumb it so I can dump the water once I let go of the trigger.

That unloader should work okay. Here’s a link to an unloader block that you’ll need. You’ll also need some 1/4" poly braid hose to run your bypass back to your buffer tank.
