Pump oil help? After oil change

I have a GP HP5535 on my old backup machine. Today I drained the oil and refilled with fresh.

This pump is rated to hold 40oz or so in the crankcase, but it only took around 20oz to fill the sight glass up to this point.

Also, the oil looks murky. Glad this is my backup machine…

Thoughts? Should I keep adding pump oil til the 40oz are accounted for?

Nope, you got to much in there as it is. I wouldn’t worry about the milky color. Mine look like that all the time.

I always fill mine to the red dot line….it usually is the recommended oil amount. Not sure the deal on that one…seems like too much according to the site glass.

Yeah, I’m honestly stumped over what’s going on here. I pulled close to 40oz out with the syringe, and then let the rest drain out the plug.

Poured one quart in, and it was already most of the way up to the sight dot. Then added a little more, thinking it had to “settle” or something. Just filled it up higher.

Ran the machine for a few minutes, and something on it was making sort of a knocking/drumming sound.

This machine has been in storage for awhile.

Looks like water is getting in, I wouldn’t think it would be that milky right after fresh oil?
