Pump Oil change question

Could probably fill it with canola if you change it often enough :joy:

I’ve used 15w40 for many years … in my engines. Bad news to use other than what mfr recommends in most things, especially pumps - ask me how I know. Vendors are vendors, sages.

That oil is nearing change intervals and has no obvious contamination

Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. Same thinking as “why use a holster, I’ve got pockets”.

Ordered mine off ebay a case ( Amazon has it also ) … it was here in no time. mines red not clear though.

My 390 Honda engine ive been using Royal Purple full sythetic 30W 200hrs so far its time to change it now at 250 hrs.

I always run Udor oil in my pumps. It’s a strait 40 weight. I believe non detergent oil is recommended in pumps because of it’s non foaming properties. I’ve always run non detergent in pumps, so that’s what I stick with. Upon looking at my manual though, Udor recommends 15w40 from several manufacturers like Castrol and such. I know that rotella has a detergent package added, and I’m pretty sure that the Udor recommended oils also have detergents. Pretty strange that Udor doesn’t recommend their own oil

The service guide for one of my older Udor pumps says to use Udor lube or a 30w non detergent.

Oh lord have mercy. It’s oil, not like either type will kill it. If someone started suggesting 90w-120 then we’d have an issue.

Whoever got Brock mad, knows he’s gone too far…
