First (comet) pump oil change on this BE b3013habc pressure washer.
There’s zero space to get underneath and remove the drain plug (where the red arrow is pointing to):
So, am I supposed to unmount this pump in order to change the oil?
Can I, or should I, loosen these 4 bolts and drain it from the side?
There’s nothing on the other end for me to access:
I can take more pictures if anyone wants/needs to see something…let me know.
Any help with how to approach this would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, the oil looks low, but that’s only because the machine is not level.
BTW2, before posting I went back out and checked again, and there is NO hole for access through the silver (skid) plate or the black mounting plate.
What’s the best way for me to proceed?
Pump it out the dipstick hole. After the initial change at 25 hours it doesn’t need to be changed again for the life of the pump.

I got the 12 dollar transfer pump from AutoZone. Incredibly handy to have around.

Yup, just suck it out.
On a side note, my pump oil gets pretty dark after a season so I change it anyway. Any reason why it would do that? Same with my gearbox oil.

That was a “well, duh” moment for me. I knew the answer, but magically managed to space-it-out. Don’t worry IBS, I slapped myself in the back of the head for you!
Just an update for future researchers: I picked up 1 of these Mityvac fluid extractors through Home Depot. Small, durable and worked well. I backed the truck up a slope, drew out as much fluid as possible, moved the truck to a level location and refilled (30w non-detergent STP from Autozone). I did the oil in the GX390 at the same time (synthetic VP small engine 30w/10w-30 from Walmart).
