Pump Advice

Hey guys, need some help with getting a new pump.

I have a honda GX390.

Would this pump work for me or is it too much for my engine?

Well I found Pump Dilemma - #4 by tireshark, with that equation it seems like it might be a bit to much for my 13hp GX390. Does anyone have other suggestions for good pumps with my engine? someone had mentioned the General Pump TS2021.
Russ mentioned the HP5535. Is that a good quality pump, I have never heard of HP as a pump brand.

The legacy pump will work, the Ts2021 pump will work as well.

The HP5535 is a General pump, “HP” is the series (high performance - i think).
Anyway my 5.5@2500 uses the hp5535 pump. You can use any size pump, as long as gearing/pully ratios are good to get the optimum gpm output. That being said you will lose psi, so its just a trade off of if you want more flow (gpm) or more pressure(PSI)
So a 5535 will run with a 13HP motor but not at 3500 psi only about 2500psi

Russ nor the PWS, nor Bob will steer you wrong. Ask them for their rec and then make a decision based on what you’re looking to do with it.

Squid always recommends Cat pumps and Dawn as a surfactant! :joy:JKing. Racer and Donte nailed it as always!
