PSA don't be a dumb dumb like me

Captain dumb dumb strikes again.

I was working and shut off my rig, went to turn the key back on and it wouldn’t start. I wound up pulling the fuse and sure enough it was bad. Replaced fuse, fire it up and went back to work. Went back to rig and turned it off as I was changing some stuff and wanted a drink. Went to fire it back up and nothing. Fuse had blown again. Gotta be a short somewhere. Took some time checking lines, no obvious breaks/tears, replaced the fuse, seemed maybe a little corroded in the fuse area, cleaned it out, fired it up. All ok.

Next day get to job site turn key and nothing. I thought what is going on. I just recharged the battery the other day and made sure leads were all good and terminals were brushed. Open battery box and I found the culprit. ME. DUMB DUMB put the battery in backwards after recharging it (has carry handle and I take it into garage to recharge) and that switched the red and black cables on the battery. Changed cables back and no more blown fuses. Although I think I ruined the hour meter.

Sounds like something my guys would do :joy:
