I didn’t treat my boards for two and a half years and they’re fine. Rinse your stuff off and it’ll be fine. I did paint my boards this off-season just to make it look a little cleaner. Primed it with Kilz and painted with Valspar Duramax for no other reason than I own a Duramax and it was the first product on the paint aisle that my eyes went to.
Aluminum floor
Old thread but now going on my 3rd enclosed I’m going all out for protection on floors. 1st coat with 2 part epoxy 2nd go over with rolled roofing 3rd Go over with rubber coating like a Hydrostop
For all the underside metal I’m using marine coating then go over with rubber coating
Hopefully this trailer will last longer than 5 yrs.
Yeah, the plywood they use on the floors is the cheapest they can find, so it would be hard to protect it. You could always replace it with something hardier with less voids and more moisture resistance. I would think the best prevention would be to pay them to use the best plywood you could find as a base (marine grade). Then coat it or whatnot after that. If a company wouldn’t upgrade their floor at your expense, I wouldn’t buy from them.
