You get your seal from the tapered thread on NPT, teflon tape provides the lubrication needed to run the male end deeper into the female end.

Never knew that.

Never needed teflon for that.

Quick update on the proportioner. Added this manifold and used blue pipe thread sealant. Next step will be to get the upgrade on the valves.

I had bad luck with those pentair valves sucking in air so I switched to that expensive one. The Monster blue pipe sealer does seem to help.

I ran through several proportioners that all got small cracks and i got fed up. The shipping to buy them in Canada adds up fast when they keep breaking, and it takes weeks. Out of desperation, I tried making one with gardena fittings, plus the checkvalves, and no leak or crack since! I was surprised it worked.:joy:
